Painting Challenge 5

Painting Challenge 5 Dec 16-Dec 22 Made good progress last week!  To stay on track, I have to paint 20 items per week.  Last week I got through 52 items.  Although some were very small, they still count! First off is the 2nd Pike Block that I have painted for my Thirty Years War force.  Also shown are figures to a unit of shot.  I think that the figures are from Black Powder, gifted to me by my friend Greg.  The figures were partially painted, so I just completed them in the scheme they were in. Next up are two more emplacements.  Not much to say about them.  I will deck them out with som debris and flock at some point. Here we have 2 World War II U.S. vehicles.  Slowly painting through the vehicles that I got from Bary.  Still have many, many, many foot figures to get through. Next up are 10 M113A1 APC's and 1 M577 Command Post wiggle in 6 mm.  Figures are from GHQ and will be used in Cold War European conflicts as well as my Dahar...

Painting Challenge 4

PAINTING CHALLENGE PART 4   Dec 9-Dec 15 As can be seen by the photograph, there was not much progress last week.  Family as well as personal medical problems limited my ability to get much of anything completed. At the top of the photo are 2 armored cars for my US 15mm World War II project.  I have not based them yet, as I haven't decided the appropriate medium to use for the base, . In the middle, are 6mm GHQ Models M60A1 tanks and M113A1 APC's.  These complete the first 2 platoons of a tank heavy combat team based on the infantry platoon that was my first assignment as a 2LT in the 1970's. The lower item is a prepared position that can be used for 28mm forces. Already, I have made more progress this week, so will be back for Part 5 next Monday.

Painting Challenge part 3

PAINTING CHALLENGE PART 3 Dec. 2-Dec. 8 Painting progress was all over the place this week.  I had hoped to get more items painted, but a minor medical problem reared its ugly head.  I did manage to meet what I think is the minimum number I need to push out every week. Here We Go! First of all, let me say sorry for the quality of the photos.  Dahara's  official court photographer was on a sabbatical.  Therefore, the alternate McShakey the elder was called in.  He complained that his Hamstring prevented him from holding still, but I'm not sure. Anyway, this first photo is of an Egyptian contingent for The Silver Bayonet.  These figures are from Northstar Miniatures and were painted mainly with Contrast and Speed Paints. This photo shows facilities of Dahara at the present.  These are all 1/700 scale models of several manufactures.  The three buildings represents the Hampton Electrical works.  They produce reactors fo...

In the background are 5 horses for my Neapolitan Chasseur au Cheval.  I had already painted the command stand and 2 other horses.  I was waiting for lance arms to show up so that I could do them in the 1813 uniform when they were lance armed. In the foreground are 8 French in Egypt figure from the Silver Bayonet range.  Nice figures that are easy to paint using Contrast Paints. Next up are 15 mm Sherman Tanks for my World War II project.  Still have a ton of US armor to do.  The Germans are all set with only minor additions to paint. Lastly we have in the top photo 6mm buildings from GHQ.  With the exce...
