Painting progress was all over the place this week.  I had hoped to get more items painted, but a minor medical problem reared its ugly head.  I did manage to meet what I think is the minimum number I need to push out every week.


Here We Go!


First of all, let me say sorry for the quality of the photos.  Dahara's  official court photographer was on a sabbatical.  Therefore, the alternate McShakey the elder was called in.  He complained that his Hamstring prevented him from holding still, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, this first photo is of an Egyptian contingent for The Silver Bayonet.  These figures are from Northstar Miniatures and were painted mainly with Contrast and Speed Paints.



This photo shows facilities of Dahara at the present.  These are all 1/700 scale models of several manufactures.  The three buildings represents the Hampton Electrical works.  They produce reactors for the Saharan Navy.  In front of the buildings is an image of the Submarine Lysander ready for deployment. In front of the Submarine are helicopters of the Armed forces as well as a supply truck for the Army.

Here are 4 more Shermans for my WWII projects.  I believe they are from Battlefront.  A simple paint job to get them ready for action.


This photo shows the test stand for the 1st Bn 1st Regiment of the Duchy of Warsaw project.  These will take some time to become a full unit as I am also painting Berg infantry as well as Neapolitans.



This photo shows the test paint schemes for 6 mm US Armor from GHQ models.  Again I have a load of these to do so they will appear now and again.

    The Duchy of Warsaw start looks good; gotta love the drummers (and trumpeters) in white jackets! Duchy of Berg and Neapolitans - you have found almost the only Napoleonic states that I do NOT have troops for, Roger. I do plan to paint a couple of my Piano Wargames French as Swiss regiments, and I need to add the Frankfurt regiment of the Rheinbund at some point...

      I did 2 units of the Berg Lancers as I couldn't decide between the green and white. Waiting for some Perry plastic command sprues. With then I will have the entire Berg army. Working on the Neopolitans in the near future. Have a lot done, but will probable build the entire army there too.

Uniforms of Dahara 5

  UNIFORMS OF DAHARA 5 2nd Lancers The 2nd Lancers were formed at the behest of the Junior Deacon of the Order of the Prophet.  These lancers were recruited from the Capital city of Konigburg, and were taken from third sons of wealthy merchants.   Their uniforms are based on the colors of the ceremonial robe of the Junior Deacon.  It consists of white coats and breeches.  Facings were of light blue shown at collar cuffs and turn backs.  They also had a light blue stripe on the outside of each leg of the breeches.  Saddle blankets were of Daharan Blue with white striping.  They wear a light blue topped  czapka with white edging and a white cross on the top.  Solid light blue plumes are worn at all times.  Trumpeters wear reversed uniforms, with light blue coat and breeches with a white stripe on the legs. THE IMAGINED DAHARA   I have made the decision to treat this iteration of Dahara as a separate entity.  In this way, I can keep the "Magic and Fantasy" aspect that I have introduced into our campaign.  I can then keep the "real" Dahara somewhat sane.  Here then is a map of the Dahara of the imagined campaign.  This Dahara is ruled by the Master of Dahara, supported by the Order of the Prophet.  The current Master is Benjamin Kardeef  the head of the House of Kardeef.   The next post will be as soon as I can.  I will have to take a break pretty soon, as I will be getting a new and improved metal knee. If I can, I will post photos of the 1st Regiment of Foot receiving a new color in recognition other service in the recently completed war against the evil K und K.
