  Disaster Strikes a Russian Armored Column While motoring from factories in the Attic Military District to various staging points to be painted in Russian Green, a column met with disaster.  While responding to warnings of air attacks, the column made a wrong turn and drove off a cliff.  Below is a photo from a German Recon JU88 taken shortly after the carnage. Vehicles can be seen in an assembly area waiting for workshop personnel to have time to repair them.  Stavka estimates that the vehicles will soon be ready to return to the front to try to stop various German breakthroughs.  The Column commander, Col Butterfinger was relieved of duties and quietly retired.

Bathtub Barbarosa There has been a resurgence in the GDW Wargame Bathtub Barbarosa 25 recently.  I thought I would go through my collections to see what I could field for various countries.  I found that I had enough vehicles to field a Panzer Regiment's Headquarters and a complete panzer battalion in both 15 and 20 mm scales. First up some 15 mm vehicles:  The Panzer Regiment Headquarters consisting of a command Panzer IIIE, 2 Recon Panzer IIF, a Staff half track, a light truck, and a medium truck and trailer. The 1st panzer battalion The battalion headquarters consists of a command Panzer IIIE, a Recon Panzer IIF, a medium truck and trailer, and a recovery tractor.  I may substitute a larger half track for this last vehicle as it looks a little small for its task. The rest of the battalion consists of 3 company formation.The first company has a command Panzer IIIG, a Panzer IIIG and a Panzer IIF.  The second company has a command Panzer38T, and 2 Panzer 38Ts. ...
