THE IMAGINED DAHARA

 

I have made the decision to treat this iteration of Dahara as a separate entity.  In this way, I

can keep the "Magic and Fantasy" aspect that I have introduced into our campaign.  I can

then keep the "real" Dahara somewhat sane.  Here then is a map of the Dahara of the

imagined campaign. 

This Dahara is ruled by the Master of Dahara, supported by the Order of the Prophet.  The

current Master is Benjamin Kardeef  the head of the House of Kardeef.   The next post

will be as soon as I can.  I will have to take a break pretty soon, as I will be getting a new

and improved metal knee.

If I can, I will post photos of the 1st Regiment of Foot receiving a new color in recognition

other service in the recently completed war against the evil K und K.

    Good luck with the Knee replacement. It is a project to recover from them, but may work well with some blogging during that time. Meanwhile.... add that followers widget! :-)
    It is actually quite easy to do.

 UNIFORMS OF DAHARA !st Battalion of the 1st Regiment of Foot 1801-1803  Finally Server J Error returned to the Capital City with an image of the 1stBn/1stReg of Foot.  This unit was instrumental in the famous Battles of the Bridges, which took place in the newly won Northern Territory of the Imagined Dahara.  For these actions the 1/1 Foot was given the honorific of "The Pratorians" by the Master of Dahara Benjamin Kardeef. This unit was the first to receive its colors in recognition of meritorious service.  The color is Daharan Blue field with the Daharan Compass of the Light on the Obverse and a Crowned Stylized K for the House of Kardeef on the Reverse. The 1/1 Foot is dressed in coats of Daharan Blue with red facings shown on collar,  cuffs, lapels, and turn backs.  Calfskin packs are suspended from white webbing.  Black cartridge boxes, bayonet scabbards and leather bread pouches complete the uniform.  Time for an Introduction I started to war-game with a friend in Jr High School back in the 1960's.  We made good use of the toy department at WT Grants Department Store.  In those days, ROCO mini tanks were sold for around 50 cents.  They also had plastic 1/72 scale planes and model ships.  We did it all for the 3 years in Jr High.   I continued wargaming all through high school and then entered the ROTC program in  college.  There I met Joe Fish ( pancerni@fish tales.blogspot) and began a friendship that has lasted since 1970.  A tour as an Infantry Officer in Germany led to a lot of solo games. Plans for 2024

  PLANS FOR 2024 Back in 2022, I decided to formulate a plan to deal with my "Pile of Shame/Opportunity" that  had accumulated over time.  I made a list of all of the minis that I had unpainted at the time.  I then divided it up into project lists.  These would be final unit numbers.  For example, a project could be a unit of 12 infantry figures, or 8 cavalry figures etc.  To my surprise, and shock, it  totaled 205 units.  Not daunted, I made the goal of painting 1,000 minis.  Well, I ended up finishing 1,050.  Would be more but I count a cavalry figure as one not two. Fast forward to 2023.  I have added considerably more to the "Pile".  Then real life got in the way with my knee getting replaced in January.  Not feeling much like painting what with a rigorous PT schedule.
