Chronicles of Dahara

  MAGICAL CREATURES OF DAHARA Responding to an urgent communication from Col Gen Wolff, Commander of the Army of the South, stating that strange creatures were harassing the Army from heavily forrested areas of Fuddland, the Mother Confessor created a hunting party of Hares. Lysander, Knight of the Order of the Fleur de Lis Rouge, leads the initial party.  It consists of Brother Anthrax, a knight, Helios, a mage, and Harvey an archer. These brave four have been dispatched to the front, where it is hoped they will combat the strange creatures confounding the Army. Figures are from Oathsworn Miniatures Burroughs and Badges Line.  They were painted with Citadel Contrast Paints and will be used in games with my 2 friends Joe and Greg during our usual Friday gatherings.  

  ON THE PAINTING TABLE 1 War of the Roses Mercenary Cavalry                                                                                                                                This is a unit of Burgundian Light Cavalry for my War of the Roses project.  The figures are Perry Plastics from the Light  Cavalry box.  I chose to go with a fairly simple color scheme, trying to integrate the blue and white colors of the Duke of Burgundy's livery.  This unit will join two units of infantry.  This combined with a Scottish contingent of a cavalry unit and 2 units of Bow and Bill will complete my Wear of the Roses project.

 UNIFORMS OF DAHARA 4   1st Regiment of Lancers                                                                                                                                          The 1st Regiment of Lancers was formed at the Behest of the Senior Deacon of the Order of the Prophet's Light.  They have seen service in every battle that Dahara has fought so far.  They were instrumental in the Battle of the Bridges in the north, where they turned the flank of the Army of the Kaiserlicht.  Transferred to the South, they now lead the Army as it tries to force the Fuddland Army to make a stand in its retreat from the border. ...

  PLANS FOR 2024 Back in 2022, I decided to formulate a plan to deal with my "Pile of Shame/Opportunity" that  had accumulated over time.  I made a list of all of the minis that I had unpainted at the time.  I then divided it up into project lists.  These would be final unit numbers.  For example, a project could be a unit of 12 infantry figures, or 8 cavalry figures etc.  To my surprise, and shock, it  totaled 205 units.  Not daunted, I made the goal of painting 1,000 minis.  Well, I ended up finishing 1,050.  Would be more but I count a cavalry figure as one not two. Fast forward to 2023.  I have added considerably more to the "Pile".  Then real life got in the way with my knee getting replaced in January.  Not feeling much like painting what with a rigorous PT schedule. I have completed only around 125 so far.  I knew I needed to set out to make another plan for next year. This plan will not be based upon...

  UNIFORMS OF DAHARA 3 The Second Regiment of Light Dragoons The Second Dragoons are sponsored by the Junior Steward of the Order of the Prophet.  They are the third cavalry regiment in seniority within the Cavalry Arm of the Daharan Field Army.  They follow the Guard de Corps and the 1st Dragoons. Again, their uniform is based on the ceremonial robes of the Steward.  They wear black coats with yellow facings shown in collar, cuffs, lapels and turnbacks,  Yellow trousers with a black stripe are worn both in the field and garrison.  Black Tarelton helmets with a yellow plume complete the uniform.   Belts are white, the cartridge box is black.  They are equipped with a straight saber and a model 1800 Daharan carbine.   The saddle cloth is black with yellow scalloped edging.  The sale is red leather.  Canteens are light blue and a brown leather bread bag is carried. UNIFORMS OF DAHARA 2 The 1st Regiment of Light Dragoons   The 1st Regiment of Light Dragoons is sponsored by the Senior Steward of the Order of the Prophet.  The uniform colors are taken from the ceremonial robes that the Senior Steward wears durning open meetings of the Order. The regiment sports green tunics with orange facings on the collar turn backs and cuffs.  Daharan Blue pants complete the clothing.  Black Tarelton helmets with a blue plume are worn at all times.  White belts and straps are worn.  Horses have brown tack. These models are Perry Miniature plastic British Dragoons that were gifted to me by my wargaming partner of over 50 years Joe Fish.  The riders were left over parts from his Light Dragoon project.   All I had to do was procure horses, and voila, I had another unit for my fictional Daharans.  At some point I will add carbines, as soon as I remember where I put them.   TRAITOR EXECUTED Server J. Error was executed on the orders of Major General Ruelle Pressman.   Error, was formerly the esteemed mapmaker of Dahara.  He was unveiled as being an agent of Fuddland after his maps for the current offensive were seen to be wildly inaccurate. He intentionally turned the maps for the western part of the offensive 90 degrees to the west.  This caused the 2nd Field force of the Prophet to become hopelessly out of position in its march towards the objectives of the campaign. Pressman officiated at the execution which was carried out by riflemen of the 1st Light Battalion assisted by gunners of the 1st Battery of the Imperial Artillery.  Pressman hopes that this will prevent other traitors from attempting to hinder the armed forces of Dahara.
