UNIFORMS OF DAHARA !st Battalion of the 1st Regiment of Foot 1801-1803  Finally Server J Error returned to the Capital City with an image of the 1stBn/1stReg of Foot.  This unit was instrumental in the famous Battles of the Bridges, which took place in the newly won Northern Territory of the Imagined Dahara.  For these actions the 1/1 Foot was given the honorific of "The Pratorians" by the Master of Dahara Benjamin Kardeef. This unit was the first to receive its colors in recognition of meritorious service.  The color is Daharan Blue field with the Daharan Compass of the Light on the Obverse and a Crowned Stylized K for the House of Kardeef on the Reverse. The 1/1 Foot is dressed in coats of Daharan Blue with red facings shown on collar,  cuffs, lapels, and turn backs.  Calfskin packs are suspended from white webbing.  Black cartridge boxes, bayonet scabbards and leather bread pouches complete the uniform. Helmets are Daharanhelms made of stiffen...

Having Technical issues!  I have the posts started for Daharan uniform information.  However, every time I try to import new photos, I receive a failure notice.  Usually, I would  chalk this up to user error, but I have posted photos in other posts. I will return as soon as possible!

IMAGES FROM THE FRONT From the Imagineered Dahara. The above image comes to us from an undisclosed location on the Northern Frontier of Dahara.  It shows the Marshall of the Order of the Prophet, Colonel General Charles Wolfe saluting the 1st Battalion of the 1st Regiment of Foot on the occasion of them receiving their Color after heroic service in our lately completed war against the K und K. As an organizational regulation, each Regiment in the army consists of 5 Battalions, each led by a Colonel.  Four of the battalions are rated as veteran and the fifth is rated as militia.  The first Regiment is also known as "The Old Soldiers" as it can trace its existence to ancient times in "Real Dahara". As an aside this post is late due to the fact of my recent knee replacement surgery was more complicated than I had hoped.  Physical Therapy has been taxing as my leg has to be re- taught the correct plane that it needs to be in for the surgery to be successful.  ...
To those of you who have commented on my posts: Thank you all for the encouraging comments.  I will get back to each of you as soon as I can.

THE IMAGINED DAHARA   I have made the decision to treat this iteration of Dahara as a separate entity.  In this way, I can keep the "Magic and Fantasy" aspect that I have introduced into our campaign.  I can then keep the "real" Dahara somewhat sane.  Here then is a map of the Dahara of the imagined campaign.  This Dahara is ruled by the Master of Dahara, supported by the Order of the Prophet.  The current Master is Benjamin Kardeef  the head of the House of Kardeef.   The next post will be as soon as I can.  I will have to take a break pretty soon, as I will be getting a new and improved metal knee. If I can, I will post photos of the 1st Regiment of Foot receiving a new color in recognition other service in the recently completed war against the evil K und K.
Time for an Introduction I started to war-game with a friend in Jr High School back in the 1960's.  We made good use of the toy department at WT Grants Department Store.  In those days, ROCO mini tanks were sold for around 50 cents.  They also had plastic 1/72 scale planes and model ships.  We did it all for the 3 years in Jr High.   I continued wargaming all through high school and then entered the ROTC program in  college.  There I met Joe Fish ( pancerni@fish tales.blogspot) and began a friendship that has lasted since 1970.  A tour as an Infantry Officer in Germany led to a lot of solo games. During those times I kept a record of all the games thinking that at some point I would consolidate them into a narrative for my own pleasure.  Long about 1985 or so I created a fictitious country in the Atlantic that I called Dahara.  The name was derived from names of places on my other hobby, a model railroad All of the games I played, ...
